WORKING TOGETHER

The United States of America has been challenged from its beginnings to establish, preserve and protect freedom, personal rights, and a guarantee for future generations of stability in these matters. These principles are enshrined in our constitution, encoded in our laws, preserved by our form of government and protected by our vigilance. The first Americans were as human as we, certainly diverse in perspective, social status, and economic position, yet they possessed something in common. They hoped for freedom because they had experienced oppression, they hoped for justice because they had experienced tyranny, they hoped for respect and self determination because they had been governed as if they were the property of their rulers. Many were so desperate that they gave up everything for the hope of a new land, a home, a place to call their own. They set a precedence for all future immigrants; work hard, abide lawfully, respect others and you may enjoy these same freedoms, along with the same responsibilities and guarantee your children the same stability.

Where did these ideas come from? What was the source from which such values seemed to spring forth? What gave such visionaries hope? Certainly not the oppressive monarchy of their day, nor the feudal system that governed their social status and economic position; indeed, from these very institutions they did flee. In every crevice of history, from the constitution to the very buildings that house our Supreme Court we see the source, included with the greatest of reverence, honor and regard. God. Yes God. Not a god of our making, but the God who created us. A firm faith and an unbending sense of destiny as the children of a Father, who is truly concerned with the welfare of His children, pervaded the hearts of these first Americans. Though sinners they were, of every sort, in humility and total dependence on God, did they form a more perfect union in this endeavor.

With a great sense of humility, these first Americans set an example for us that we do well to remember. They WORKED TOGETHER. In many ways it was suffering that brought them together, but what they accomplished by WORKING TOGETHER changed the world and continues to do so.

At Greater Grace Christian Coffee House we continue to value WORKING TOGETHER. Through Community Awareness Meetings we hope to bring our community TOGETHER to become aware of issues confronting our community and initiate the process of WORKING TOGETHER to discover and implement solutions.

At Greater Grace Christian Coffee House, we are inviting like minded Christians to WORK TOGETHER in serving the local community and reaching out to the World through a program, The Church at Fredericksburg Coming TOGETHER For Something Only God Can Do. We have seen God bless this and He has opened a door for this small group of believers to work with orphans in Russia. We invite you, where ever you to are to consider the importance of working together to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. If you would like, come visit us at Greater Grace Christian Coffee House for a great cup of coffee, and GET TOGETHER and change the World!
